James Stewart
Finance Director

James has over 20 years experience in finance and management roles, the majority of which were within Training and International Education.

After leaving Lancaster University with a degree in Economics and Management Accountancy, he spent 3 years in a chartered accountancy practice before moving into the post of Financial Accountant in a fast growing independent national training company. During his time there, the company grew from a turnover of £4M to a peak of £18M, employing in excess of 500 staff.

At the end of 2000, James joined NCC Education - a QCA approved Global Higher Education Awarding body. He played a key role in turning the company from a heavily loss-making position into a profitable, financially strong organisation. In his 6 years with NCC Education he occupied the roles of Finance Director and Company Secretary which required coordination and control of 5 international offices and the specific statutory reporting to an overseas Plc.

In his last year with NCC Education, he also fulfilled the role of Acting Managing Director, during which time the company enjoyed the most financially successful period in its history.

James joined Orbital in 2007 to fulfil the role of Group Finance Director and assist in the growth of the business.
