The British International Kindergarten, Seoul opened its Hannam campus in September 2006. Our international school provides a British style education for children from the expatriate community who are aged from 2 years to 7 years of age. The school is ideally located for international families being in the centre of the embassy district and close to the area known locally as the UN Village. We are very proud of the fact that our Kindergarten has quickly established itself with expatriate parents as a place of exceptional learning for their young children. It already has an outstanding reputation and is rapidly becoming oversubscribed.

The curriculum is based very much on the well respected British curriculum for Early Years, Foundation Stage and Key Stage One children (ages 2 ' 7 years) with its emphasis of the main areas of developmental learning for young children but this is also modified to meet the needs of the young children of the international community. As well as preparing children for an understanding and appreciation of the world at large, the school also teaches the values good manners, appropriate behaviour, courtesy, confidence and respect.

At the British International Kindergarten, we also appreciate the value of enhancing the curriculum experiences for young children with extra curricular activities such as creative activities, music and choir, physical education activities, drama and cooking. We also make full use of opportunities available in the local community such as visits to the theatre, Seoul Forest, the Police Station and other areas of interest which would support the children's learning. Artist, authors, doctors, vets and other community members are frequent visitors to our school where they enrich the children's learning by talking about the work they do.

The Kindergarten was purpose built as a school and has spacious, airy classrooms. Each class has a computer which children use to enrich and support their learning. Older children also have the use of Interactive Smart Boards in their classrooms thus bringing access to the wider world directly into their classrooms.

The Headmistress is an Early Years specialist with over 30 years experience and she leads an team of exceptional British teachers suitably qualified for teaching children in this age range. Together, this enthusiastic and dedicated team has created a culture of true warmth and an exceptionally caring environment which brings together the many positive qualities of British and Korean cultures and thus lays down the early learning blocks necessary for an appreciation of and familiarity with the expectations of an international worldwide community.
